Sindh Governor takes notice of man’s killing in presence of police

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Sunday took notice of the killing of a man in the presence of police.

On Sunday, SP Tahir Noorani told a local media outlet that the police as per court orders transported murderer Sohail in a police van from Darakhshan police station to the residence of Munawar in Bahadurabad in order to “recover” Sohail’s ex-wife and three children.

Sohail shot and killed Munawwar.

Sohail had filed a case against Munawar, claiming that the latter had abducted his ex-wife and children. However, the court had dismissed the case but had ordered police to “recover” the woman and children.

Sohail’s ex-wife had taken Khula from him and since then has been living separately.

Noorani had said: “There was negligence on our part that the murderer succeeded in bringing along a weapon.”

Upon learning about the incident, Governor Ismail directed Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam to probe into the matter and take action against the accused.
