Choas ensues as police baton charge job applicants at Karachi’s civil hospital

KARACHI: Chaos broke out at Karachi’s civil hospital as more than expected number of candidates turned up for job interviews and police baton charged them.

Sabir Memon, the medical superintendent of the hospital said that the administration was expecting 8,000 to 10,000 candidates but more turned up.

However, the candidates alleged that the management had made poor arrangements as they found a crowd gathered at the hospital when they appeared for interviews. And the administration called the police to baton charge the candidates, causing further confusion.

The interviews for some 300 positions from Grade 1 to Grade 5 took place on Sunday and continued till late night. Memon said that more than 10,000 people turned up.
