Rain in capital brings mercury down

ISLAMABAD: The federal Capital on Saturday received rainfall with intermittently spells along cold wind which brought the mercury down.

The minimum temperature in the city was recorded as eight degree Celsius.

According to the met office, rain with snowfall over the hills occurred in scattered places of Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB)while at isolated places in Quetta, Makran, Sukkur, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sargodha, D.G Khan, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur divisions.

Rainfall during the last 24 hours:

Islamabad: Zero Point 9mm, Saidpur 6mm, Golra 5mm, Murree 8mm.

Rawalpindi: Shamsabad 3mm, Chaklala 3mm, Chakwal, Bhakkar 1mm, Kalam 1mm, Pattan 18mm, Dir 1mm, Balakot 17mm, Lower Dir 8mm, Kakul 7mm, Chitral 6mm, Drosh 6mm.

Kashmir: Garidupatta 13mm, Muzaffarabad 9mm, Kotli 7mm

Balochistan:
Lasbella 7mm, Quetta 3mm, Barkhan 1mm

Sindh:
Jaccobad 1mm, Rohri 1mm

More snowfall over the mountains is also expected in Murree, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the period. However, partly cloudy weather is expected in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Snowfall inch recorded: Kalam 9mm, Malamjabba 7mm, Murree 3mm, Ziarat 2mm, Chitral 1mm, Bagrote, Skardu trace.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is still affecting upper and central parts of the country and likely to move eastward during the next 12-18 hours.

Saturday minimum temperature recorded Bagrote, Gupis, Skardu -8°C, Astore -6°C, Kalam , Malamjabba -5°C, Hunza -4°C, Kalat -3°C, Drosh, Gilgit, Bunji, Parachinar and Murrree -2°C.
