LAHORE: The national carrier, Pakistan International Airline (PIA), on Saturday once again proved its incompetence after it sent the luggage of six passengers to Jeddah while the passengers themselves were offloaded at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
According to the details, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had barred the passengers from travelling, citing inadequate travel documents.
The incident is a violation of international law that states that the luggage of a passenger may not be transported to a country without the passenger’s presence in that country. Therefore, the airline’s incompetence has led to the Saudi Civil Aviation (SCA) taking action against PIA.
According to the airline’s officials, the concerned staff has been questioned about the mistake. “We have sought the luggage and it would be returned to the passengers soon,” an airline official told the media.
