–Fawad Chaudhry says ‘there will be no deals with the corrupt’

JHELUM: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is under immense pressure to strike deals with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking at an event in Jhelum, Fawad said that PTI is receiving unsolicited advice from various quarters on how to deal with the cases against the former prime minister and former president.

“Everyday, there is someone telling us that our anti-corruption efforts are hindering the functioning of the parliament. Some people are advising us to go easy on Zardari and Nawaz Sharif; others want us to negotiate settlements,” said Chaudhry.

“These people need to realise that until the PTI is in power and Imran Khan is prime minister of Pakistan, there will be no deals for the corrupt,” he reiterated.

Repeating accusations against the PML-N and PPP top leaders, the information minister said both political leaders were guilty of establishing fake companies to launder ill-gotten wealth.

He said that not even 15 people visited Kot Lakhpat jail to express solidarity with Nawaz.

“Zardari made companies limited to documents only. Nobody in his previous seven generations has worked and now they are howling over the cases against them,” he added.

“Thugs of Pakistan series is underway in the country. We do not want to take loans but promote trade. More than 10 million jobs will be produced in the next five years,” asserted the minister.

“They are a mafia, and generations of their families are reaping the benefits of their corruption,” said Chaudhry, adding that Imran Khan and the PTI will leave no stone unturned in efforts to expose the leadership of the PML-N and PPP.

“PTI will eliminate the difference between the rich and poor and make Pakistan stand on its feet. 2019 will be the year of the country’s economic stability. The government is working with an agenda of increasing trade, boosting industry and investment opportunities in the country,” he vowed.

“We laid the foundations of a corruption-free Pakistan under the leadership of Imran Khan and now we are heading towards economic prosperity,” declared Fawad.

He claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan will only witness better days ahead. “We are seven months into our tenure and there has been no corruption scandal against any federal minister,” said Chaudhry.
