CM suspends GDA director general over poor performance

GUJRANWALA: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Saturday visited Gujranwala and suspended the Gujranwala Development Authority (GDA) director general for his poor performance.

Addressing a high-level meeting, he directed to take immediate steps for improving the Solid Waste Management Department besides ordering to transfer the Health CEO due to complaints against him.

The chief minister also decided to get the complaints against WASA and the GDA investigated by the Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT).

He directed the officials concerned to transfer the deputy commissioner over negligence in duty, asking him to report to the S&GAD and also distributed wheelchairs among the differently-abled persons.

Separately, Buzdar visited the District Police Lines and laid a bouquet at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. He also visited the model police station and teaching hospital where he inspected different departments.

The chief minister also inquired after the health of patients and listened to the complaints of nurses.

Later, he paid a surprise visit to DHQ Hospital Hafizabad and inspected the facilities being provided to the patients.

He also met with local Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and ticket-holders.
