US property of Imran Khan’s sister Aleema worth Rs450m: report

Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan owns an expensive property in the United States (US) which remained undeclared till 2017 and is worth more than Rs 450 million, a report published in local media claimed.

During programme “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzad Kay Sath”, investigative reporter Ahmed Noorani claimed that Aleema Khan did not declare her US property till 2017.

According to Noorani, Aleema owns three flats of a four-storey building in New Jersey, while her business partner owns a single flat.

The current worth of Aleema Khan’s New Jersey property is over Rs45 crore, Noorani claimed, adding she holds 75 per cent of the property.

On Jan 1, the Supreme Court was informed that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recovered Rs67 million from Pakistani citizens holding undisclosed foreign bank accounts and properties abroad.

During the proceedings, the FBR informed the bench that Aleema Khan has not yet paid taxes/fine Rs. 29.4 million, however she could pay it till January 13. The Chief Justice observed that money should be recovered so country’s economy could further improve.

“We are entrusting FBR with the responsibility to bring wealth back to the country,” Justice Nisar remarked.
