KARACHI: School van owners and drivers stage a protest amid a crackdown by local police against vans and buses fitted with CNG and LNG.
On January 5, a school bus caught fire in the Orangi town vicinity due to which eight children suffered burns. There were 14 children in the vehicle.
As the police launched a crackdown in light of the accident, the drivers and bus owners took to the street to protest and demand that their vehicles are allowed to be fitted with CNG.
Many parents report that they were notified by text messages one day ago that the school vans will not be able to take their children to school. Meanwhile, the van owners claim that if they are expected to shift to petrol, then the bus fare will also increase.
