RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Education Ministry has decided to grant an extension of two years to contract teachers and clerical staff working in primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools and education department all over the province, including Rawalpindi.
The extension will be given to those teachers whose contract is going to expire on June 30.
The education department has issued a circular to education officers of all 36 districts to file lists of all contract male and female teachers and clerks.
The decision has sparked a wave of jubilation among contract teachers and clerical staff.
