KARACHI: Karachi police claimed to have arrested two robbers in injured condition during an alleged encounter in Shah Latif Town area of the city in the wee hours of Thursday.
The Malir senior superintendent of police (SSP) told during a raid in Shah Latif town area, the robbers opened fire on the police team. However, in retaliatory firing by police, the robbers received bullet injuries. Police arrested them in injured condition and recovered weapons, bullets, mobile phones and a stolen motorbike from their possession.
According to the SSP, both the accused, identified as Zeeshan and Hamid, were involved in a robbery in Shah Latif Town on December 18, adding that they had wounded a guard by opening fire on him for resisting robbery.
He further said that Zeeshan was involved in another robbery on 25 December at a shop in the same area and was later identified with the help of CCTV footage.
Detainees were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
