KARACHI: “Excited to meet the star footballers” were the words of Pakistan football team captain Saddam Hussain when he met retired football legends, Brazil’s Ricardo Kaka and Portuguese Luís Figo, who arrived in Pakistan on Thursday to officially launch the World Soccer Stars (WSS) event.
The government of Pakistan welcomed the star footballers through its official twitter handle and wrote: “Welcome, @KAKA & @LuisFigo to Pakistan”.

During their much-anticipated visit, retired players will promote WSS which is organized to promote the sport of football in the country.
The football duo will make a special appearance at Pearl Continental in Karachi and Packages Mall in Lahore.
The administrative body of WSS has announced to conduct two matches in Karachi and Lahore. The event will be held between April 26 and April 29.
Earlier, both the stars took to their social media accounts to break the news of their arrival. “Let the excitement begin”, Figo wrote.
