MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday was informed that the environmental fallout of the Neelum-Jehlum Hydropower Project has been taken up with the federal government.

Responding to a call to attention notice raised by the opposition leader, Higher Education Minister Barrister Iftikhar Ahmed Gillani said that the federal government will hopefully settle the issue.

He said that the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), in consultation with the federal government, will address the project’s environmental problems.

Moreover, the House approved the AJK President’s Pension (Amendment) Ordinance 2018 and also offered fateha for the martyrs of Indian firing at the Line of Control (LoC).
