RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has constituted a committee for bringing improvement in the availability of medicines and medical facilities in the three allied hospitals in Rawalpindi, besides seeking recommendations of the committee through a report within 48 hours.
The Specialised Healthcare secretary has constituted a five-member committee to work out a report in respect of Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, Holy Family hospital and district headquarters hospital.
A committee comprising Lahore Ganga Ram Hospital MS Dr Fayyaz Ahmad Butt, SHCME Department Deputy Secretary Dr Nasir Mehmood Shakir, Dr Khalid Hussain of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, HMIS Director Dr Shahbaz Ashraf, and Lahore MMPU Field Coordinator Dr Muhammad Naeem Malik has been tasked to review operational and technical management issue in these three hospitals with reference to patient care and propose solution of the problems on short term and long-term basis.
The committee has been directed to visit all wards particularly the emergency wards of these three hospitals to review the lack of facilities and make recommendations for addressing the problems.
