An elderly man has been arrested for patting the head of Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Maria Mahmood, a private media outlet reported Thursday.
According to reports, 85-year-old Trade Union President Sufi Muhammad Rasheed had patted the head of the female DPO in an open court held at Arifwala’s Municipal Committee Hall.
Reacting to the gesture, DPO Maria rebuked the elderly man and directed the cops to take him into custody.
Protesting over the attitude of the DPO, the traders announced a strike following which Sahiwal Regional Police Officer (RPO) took notice of the incident and ordered to release the elderly man.
