SHC issues notices to DG Rangers, IGP, Sindh govt regarding missing person

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued notices to the Sindh Government, Rangers Director General (DG), and Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) on a plea pertaining to the disappearance of a citizen, Abdul Raheem.

While hearing the plea filed by Abdul Hanan, brother of Raheem, the court directed the respondents and concerned departments to submit their replies regarding the disappearance till January 22.

Usman Farooq, counsel of the petitioner, told the court that Raheem was detained by law enforcement agencies on the night of December 20, 2018, from his home.

He said that Raheem is a peaceful citizen and is not involved in any criminal activity. “No state institution is providing the information about Raheem,” he said.
