Pakistan on number 6 in latest ICC Test rankings

LAHORE: Despite surrendering the series to host South Africa, Pakistan has jumped to the sixth slot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test ranking order.

In the individual category, young quick Muhammad Abbas slipped from fifth to the sixth position.

Azhar Ali, who was the only Pakistani cricketer amongst the top ten batsmen, lost his place in the list. Whilst, Asad Shafiq reached from 29th to 24th spot, followed by Babar Azam who is only one spot behind.

National skipper Sarfraz Ahmad and batsman Shan Masood moved to career-bests with 37th and 65th place respectively.

Young gun Shaheen Shah Afridi gained a career-best as he rose to 60th spot after taking four wickets in the second Test which Pakistan terribly lost.

Meanwhile, cricket bigwigs Australia and India remain on the same positions.
