ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked that if the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project is not completed then it will be considered noncompliance of court’s orders.

A three-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) presided over by the CJP took up OLMT project case for hearing on Wednesday.

Counsel for private contractor companies, Naeem Bokhari, appeared before the court saying that the basic reason behind the delay in the project’s completion is that nobody is being paid for the work.

The CJP inquired about the payments that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has to give companies working on the project and said that their cheques should be deposited in the Supreme Court.

“The contractors can get their cheques with regard to the construction work by depositing bank guarantee in SC,” he said.
