KARACHI: The Karachi branch of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday said that it had arrested a property builder who had encroached state land and scammed the general public out of millions of rupees.
“NAB arrested Zafar Nehal, chairman [of the] Arisha Cooperative Society,” the bureau’s spokesperson said.
According to the details, the accused is allegedly involved in the commission of corruption and corrupt practices by illegally occupying government land and cheating public at large. However, his liability is estimated at approximately Rs700 million.
Karachi NAB DG Brig (r) Farooq Naser Awan said that NAB Karachi is committed to nab corrupt elements by adopting “Accountability for All” policy across the board.
