ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday posted a congratulatory message for the Indian cricket team on Twitter on becoming the first-ever Asian cricket team to beat Australia on their home ground.
India won the series 2-1 after the final Test was called off due to heavy rains in Sydney. The historic victory marked the first time for any subcontinent team to beat Aussies in Down Under since 1947.
“Congratulations to Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team for the first ever win by a subcontinent team in a test series in Australia,” Pakistani premier posted on Twitter.

Meanwhile, former speedster Shoaib Akhtar also praised blue shirts on Monday for their historic win.
“Congratulations to Team India for a historic series victory Down Under. One of the toughest tours in world cricket is a Test Series in Australia. It was a great effort and they kept Aussies under pressure throughout. #DownUnder #INDvAUS,” he wrote on Twitter.
