LOWER DIR: An under-custody accused was killed when a police van came under attack here on Monday.
According to details, a culprit Bacha Zeb attacked a police van in Timergara Shaheed Chowk Lower Dir, while it was taking back an under custody accused to prison after producing in the court.
Due to firing, an under custody accused Hazrat Umer s/o Amer Khan, hailing from Balochistan was killed.
The body was shifted to DHQ Hospital Timergara for postmortem. The police arrested the attacker along with weapons and have started an investigation after registering a case against him.
Moreover, three policemen from Hangu were suspended after an under custody accused of murder fled due to their negligence on Monday.
According to the details, Ajab Khan who killed a man Pir Gul on payment was arrested by police with the murder weapon.
Due to the negligence of Tal Police, the culprit managed to escape from the police station.
The police department suspended and arrested three officials including Moharar Mehboob Alam, Head Constable Imtiaz Ali and Constable Zahid while raids were being conducted to re-arrest the culprit at large.
