Railways police salaries to be raised, says Sheikh Rasheed

LAHORE: Salaries of railways police have been raised to bring it at par with salaries given to Punjab police, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed announced on Saturday.

“Verbal approval has been granted for bringing salaries of railways police at par with those of Punjab police,” the minister said while addressing a press conference in the provincial capital.

“Within the next six months, we will launch two VVIP trains. Further, this month if the premier has time then we will inaugurate the installation of GPS trackers in trains,” he said.

“We are also starting railways’ FM radio,” he elaborated.

In response to a question, he said that “we will move the Supreme Court to recover Rs3 billion of Pakistan Railways from Royal Palm Golf and Country Club.”
