Light rain reduces smog, adds to winter chills

LAHORE: Light rain in parts of the city and its surroundings on Saturday provided relief from smog while also bringing the mercury further down.

Intermittent rain was also reported in other cities of Punjab, including Wazirabad, Sheikhupura, Sangla Hill, Phalia, Bhalwal, Chiniot, Muridke and Gujrat.

According to the Met Office, rain-thunderstorms are expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Gujranwala divisions during the next 24 hours.

Weather will remain cold and dry weather in other parts of the country.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in the provincial capital were 13 and 4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
