Sheikh Rasheed to move SC against Shehbaz’s PAC chairmanship

LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed’s on Friday announced to approach to the Supreme Court (SC) to seek Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif’s removal as chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

According to details, the railway minister said, “We can’t accept Shehbaz Sharif as chairman of PAC, therefore, we will move a plea in Supreme Court after two days against his appointment.”

Earlier, the federal minister had said that Shehbaz Sharif’s appointment is contrary to the Constitution of Pakistan.

It is pertinent here to mention that the federal government was not ready to consider Shehbaz Sharif’s name for chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The opposition and federal government later agreed to appoint him.

During a press conference, the railway minister had expressed his grave concerns over the appointment. He had announced to move the court and challenge Shehbaz’s PAC chairmanship.
