Pakistani cricketers jet off for Bangladesh Premier League

LAHORE: Pakistani cricketers, who are to take part in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), left for Bangladesh on Thursday.

BPL, which is starting from January 5, features former captain Muhammad Hafeez, tall quick Muhammad Irfan, all-rounder Aamer Yamin, pacer Muhammad Sami and Muhammad Sohail from Pakistan. Former all-rounder Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik will also be seen in action.

Hafeez and Sami are part of Rajshahi Kings, Irfan and Tanveer play for Sylhet Sixers whilst all-rounders Yamin, Afridi and Malik represent Comilla Victorians.

BPL will continue till February 8 and feature 7 teams.

Bangladesh T20 league, which started in 2011, has been in the news for match-fixing allegations and was suspended by the local authorities for a while. It then resumed in 2015 and has been on-going ever since.
