ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday hinted at teaming up with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government.

Saad made the comments while talking to reporters outside the Parliament House on Wednesday.

He said that the PML-N may join with the PPP “not to topple the government but to present a strong opposition for legislative purposes”.

The PML-N leader, who is currently in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Paragon Housing Scheme case, emphasised that his party wished to see the incumbent government complete its term in power.

However, he regretted that NAB laws were not changed during the tenure of PML-N.

“We erred by not changing NAB laws. This must be changed,” he said.

Responding to a question regarding military courts, he said that “the military courts were established under different circumstances. The situation has changed now”.

In response to a question, Saad denied reports that a forward bloc will be made led by former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar.

He said that Nisar will not form a forward bloc and there are no plans to form one either.

Saad also once again critcised the ongoing accountability process in the country, saying that “crime committed in the name of accountability should stop”.
