LAHORE: An accountability court on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) former director general Ahad Cheema in the LDA City scam case.

The court extended the remand by another eight days and directed the National Accountancy Bureau (NAB) officials to produce Cheema again on the expiry of the remand term on January 10.

Accountability Court Judge Syed Najamul Hassan conducted the case proceedings, whereas the accused was also present in the court.

It is pertinent to mention here that NAB is probing complaints of irregularities in the LDA City project’s affairs. Ahad Cheema and LDA City development partners are accused of selling more plots than the number of acquired ones.
