A video that went viral on social media shows the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials at Islamabad airport charging extra airport tax in the name of “round figures”.
In the video, a passenger is being asked to pay a new tax by the desk officer which is Rs368 and when the individual gave him Rs1000, the officer returned Rs600 cutting Rs400 instead of Rs368.

When the passenger demanded the rest of the change, the official claimed that they are charging the tax in round figures. The officials, present the scene, refused to pay him his remaining change despite the protest by the individual.
“We are cutting the tax in round figures and this is our policy,” the official stated.
