KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday appointed former cricketer Wasim Bari as Head of High Performance Centre (HPC) in Karachi.
The cricket governing body, under the patronage of newly-appointed chief Ehsan Mani, has made a number of changes, including the appointment of Leicestershire CEO Waseem Khan as its first-ever Managing Director (MD), former cricketer Mohsin Hasan Khan as head of a newly-formed cricket committee and Sami-ul-Hasan, as director media after the seat went vacant as his predecessor Amjad Hussain Bhatti returned to his parent department, Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) as its head.
Wasim Bari replaced Iqbal Qasim who is also a former cricketer and assumed the responsibility in February, right after the inauguration of the HPC.
HPC was constructed earlier this year in Karachi National Stadium to help batsmen improve their technique and coup with fast tracks in foreign tours. A total of 23 pitches, including a cemented pitch, and a first-ever marble turf were constructed in the facility.
