LAHORE: Bahria Town Lahore on New Year’s night amused and enthralled many including, families, children, and a large number of young men, with a stunning fireworks show at its replica of the Eiffel Tower.
According to reports, many people remained stuck in traffic in a bid to reach the location.
Earlier on Monday, post shared on the real-estate developer’s social media handles had announced the cancellation of its annual display of new year fireworks stating “unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances”.
“Fireworks at Eiffel Tower Bahria Town Lahore have been cancelled due to unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances. We apologise for any inconvenience you may have faced in this regard,” read the post.
The event, made an annual one by Bahria Town, had widely been advertised over the internet ahead of the New Year’s Eve and thousands of Lahoris had planned to throng city’s latest tourist attraction for the show.
While there hasn’t been any official statement as to why the display was called off, it merits a mention here that Bahria Town is reportedly facing a financial crunch.
The Supreme Court is currently in control of the organisation’s cash inflow and has halted development work until a verdict in the real estate developer’s case is announced.
