Elderly woman burnt alive in Sherakot

LAHORE: An elderly woman, ‘set ablaze’ by unidentified men in Sherakot, died on Sunday.

Reportedly, 70-year old Parveen was set on fire at her home. She sustained severe burns and died during treatment at a hospital. The culprits managed to escape.

According to police, victim’s brother, Iqbal, alleged that Parveen’s niece and her husband are involved in the murder. Police have registered a case and are probing into the incident.

Meanwhile, a six-year-old girl from Kot Lakhpat was reunited with her parents on Sunday.

The girl and her parents came from Pattoki to meet their relatives in Kot Lakhpat area of Lahore. On the day of the incident, the girl forgot her way back home and started crying on the road. Police spotted her and made an announcement at the local mosques. Her parents eventually found out and she was reunited with her parents.
