LAHORE: An accountability court on Monday granted a four-day transit remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and MNA Khawaja Saad Rafique, enabling him to attend the meeting of a National Assembly standing committee in Islamabad.
As per the details, Accountability Court (AC) Judge Muhammad Azam passed the orders on an application filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
NAB prosecutor Hafiz Asad and investigation officer submitted that the standing committee chairman had summoned the lawmaker to attend a meeting of the committee. They requested the court to allow a four-day transit remand of the MNA so that he may be shifted to Islamabad.
At this, the court allowed Saad’s transit remand till January 4.
It may be noted that Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique were arrested by NAB on December 11 in the Paragon Housing Scam. The bureau had earlier obtained their physical remand for investigation.
