Years old dispute settled after loss of 12 lives

LARKANA: A grand jirga to resolve a four-year-long dispute between the Dahani and Sadhayo communities was held on Saturday at the residence of Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Moazim Ali Abbasi under the chairmanship of Sardar Manzoor Panhwar.

Member National Assembly (MNA) Ghous Bux Mahar, Sardar Azhar Kamario, Najaf Kamario, Sardar Ali Nawaz Jalbani, Muhammad Khan Junejo, Behram Khan Buledi, Agha Mosavi Khan, Karim Bux Badani and others also took part in the jirga.

After hearing both the affected communities, it was proved that nine people of the Sadhayo community and three persons of Dahani community were gunned down, while 16 people of both the communities were injured because of the dispute.

They all were fined a total of Rs19.9 million out of which Rs13.4 million will be paid to the Sadhayo community by the Dahani community and Rs6.5 million will be paid to Dahani community by the Sadhayo community.

For settling the issue of disputed land, a committee consisting of four notables including Sardar Azhar Kamario and Sardar Ali Nawaz Jalbani was formed. The committee will visit the land and decide the matter. Both communities embraced each other after hearing the verdict.
