–FIA accuses Mandviwalla Entertainment of laundering Rs128m 

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday raided the office of Mandviwalla Entertainment, a filmmaking company in Karachi.

According to reports, the raid was conducted after the Agency was tipped off about reports of money laundering via hundi and hawala.

The company, which imports equipment pertaining to filmmaking and cinemas, laundered Rs128 million abroad through hundi, claimed the reports.

There were reports of the arrest of Nadeem Mandviwalla, the brother of Senate deputy chairman Saleem Mandviwalla. However, the organisation denied reports, though it confirmed the FIA raid.

The FIA also took a staffer into custody who was allowed to go after questioning, the spokesman said in a statement. FIA Officials took along important documents from the office. Mandviwalla Entertainment is a law-abiding organisation, the statement said further, adding that it was cooperating with the agency.
