UAE ambassador inaugurates Integrated Dialysis Unit in Peshawar IKD

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of UAE to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Hamad Obaid Alzaabi on Thursday inaugurated the Integrated Dialysis Unit at the Institute of Kidney Disease (IKD) in Peshawar.

The project was funded and supported by the Ataya Alkhayer Initiative that donated $200 million as part of a partnership programme with the UAE embassy which aims to provide sustained and continued humanitarian assistance in various areas of Pakistan during the Year of Zayed.

Alzaabi said that UAE is fulfilling its humanitarian responsibilities in view of current challenges by adopting new means of work and movement to meet the requirements of charitable work by studying the needs in different areas and regions of Pakistan in order to ensure the sustainability of development established by the UAE for many years.

The ambassador pointed out that the assistance and support to Pakistan’s health sector is one of the priorities of the UAE’s Foreign Aid strategy which has always been given importance by UAE’s leadership.

He expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support and follow-up of all needs and welfare projects in Pakistan.

He also thanked His Royal Highness’s spouse, Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, for her direct and uninterrupted support.

He said that she had played an important role in fostering humanitarian and development assistance which is a step forward in reinforcing the UAE’s global humanitarian mission and its wise leadership due to which UAE had become one of the most important donor countries for humanitarian and development assistance.

The UAE ambassador affirmed that Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan embodied the principle of continuity in the humanitarian contribution and sustainability in development work for the welfare and happiness of mankind through the Attaya Initiative.
