Three dead, 25 injured as passenger coach falls in gorge in Buner

BUNER: At least three people, including a woman and child, died and more than two dozen others were injured when a passenger coach fell into a gorge on Thursday, police said.

According to details, a Buner bound passenger coach bearing registration number LES-3017 coming from Mardan with 30 people onboard got out of control of driver while negotiating a sharp turn and it plunged into a deep ravine in Kingergali area of Buner.

Three people, including Razia Bibi, her minor son Abdul Baqar and cleaner Umer Syed, died on the spot in the accident while 25 others sustained injuries.

The police, volunteers of Al-Khidmat Foundation and local people through joint effort pulled up the bodies and injured from the ravine and shifted them to different hospitals.

Buner Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shafiullah Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Shahid Ahmad Khan visited the District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital and inquired after the health of the injured people. They directed the hospital staff to ensure the best possible treatment facilities to the injured.
