SC seeks reply on bail plea in FCS corruption case

KARACHI: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan’s Karachi Registry on Thursday issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) director general (DG) and prosecutor, and sought replies from them on a bail application in the Fisherman Cooperative Society (FCS) corruption case.

Former FCS administrator Abdul Saeed Khan, chairman Abdul Saeed and others had approached the apex court to get the bails in the case.

The counsel of the applicants told the court that Sindh High Court (SHC) had dismissed the bail applications by neglecting realities.

He said that Abu Bakar Mariwala and Gul Munir Shaikh have been accused of committing corruption in the society’s contract, whereas Abdul Saeed Khan has been blamed for making 155 illegal appointments in FCS.
