–FM says Pakistan committed to building better relationships with neighbouring countries
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday coined a term “shuttle diplomacy” to sum up his official visit to four countries.
He defined it as Pakistan’s attempts of “reaching out to regional partners in order to foster greater understanding and cooperation between all stakeholders” and asserted that the country is committed to building better relationships with neighbouring countries.

On Wednesday, Qureshi had arrived in Moscow on the final leg of his four-nation tour.
It merits a mention here that prior to visiting Moscow, Qureshi visited Kabul, Tehran and Beijing and took his three counterparts into confidence regarding the outcome of the recently held dialogue between Washington and Afghan Taliban for the political settlement of the Afghan conflict and sought their support for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
However, former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar has criticised the foreign minister’s four-country tour.
Speaking on a private TV channel, she alleged that no certain achievements can be seen on the foreign policy front.
Moreover, she said that Qureshi needed to look at the foreign policies of former governments for some direction. Foreign policies are pre-meditated and not devised on an urgent basis, she added.
She also asserted that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government needs to take the Parliament into confidence regarding its foreign policy.
