RAWALPINDI: The Education Department has decided to begin the new academic year of junior school from March 1 instead of April 1 in all the districts, including Rawalpindi in Punjab.
According to media reports, education officers of all 36 districts in Punjab are being given the target to ensure the admission of 100,000 children at primary level in schools.
New admissions will start from February 1 and the process will be completed during March.
Board examinations of class 5 and class 8 will commence from February 2 and they will be completed till February 22. Students of these classes will be allowed to sit in class 6 and class 9 class before the announcement of the examination result.
