KARACHI: The owner of Arizona Grill, Nadeem Mumtaz Raja, on Thursday hoodwinked authorities and escaped from a local court as he was about to be arrested.
On November 11, two children had died after eating ‘unhygienic’ food at his restaurant.
The accused had come to the court after his bail expired and admitted that the meat being served to customers was imported from Dubai three years ago, adding that he had stored the meat and then forgot about it.
“The meat was meant for another restaurant in DHA which never opened,” Nadeem Mumtaz told investigators.
The police are conducting raids to arrest the culprit.
