Rs700m approved for upgrading sport grounds in KP: Atif Khan

PESHAWAR: Senior Minister for Sports, Tourism, Culture, Archive and Youth Affairs Atif Khan on Wednesday said that the provincial government has approved a grant of Rs700 million for upgrading sports complexes and completing new sports schemes for the promotion of sports in KP.

He said this after chairing a high-level meeting which was attended by Sports Secretary Shahid Zaman, Additional Sports Secretary Babar Khan, Sports DG Junaid Khan and other concerned officials.

Talking to APP, Atif Khan said that the grant would be used to upgrade sports complexes in Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan (D.I Khan), Bannu and Haripur.

He said the new schemes comprising of the construction of sports hostel in Mardan along with the up-gradation of cricket grounds, basketball, indoor halls for badminton, volleyball and taekwondo.

 

He said that promotion of sports is a top priority of the government and the government would ensure sporting facilities to the youth in every nook and corner of the province to encourage the youth to come to the health sports activities.
