No JIT was formed against Tareen, Aleema: moot told

LARKANA: Sindh Transport Minister Syed Nasir Shah has said that conspiracies were being hatched by making joint investigation teams (JIT) where fake evidence of various transactions was made, adding that no JIT was constituted against Jahangir Khan Tareen and Aleema Khan despite their foreign accounts and assets.

He was addressing a seminar to mark the 11th death anniversary of slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto at Begum Nusrat Bhutto Memorial Hall here on Wednesday. Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Sassui Palijo, MPA Lal Chand Akrani, MNA Naseeba Chana, MPA Nida Khuhro, other party leaders and activists took part in the seminar in large numbers.

Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that justice demanded that the names of those who committed treachery with the Constitution and country should be punished. “Today’s government is saying that the presidential constitution should be brought to the place of 1973’s Constitution,” he added.

He said that the present government was bringing prosperity through the distribution of chickens yet the development budget had been cut by Rs500 billion which was an injustice. “We gave autonomy to the provinces and awarded them 57 per cent share out of the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award,” Khuhro claimed.

Former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the people of Sindh are very talented because they had supported the PPP, adding that the Bhutto family served the people of Pakistan and did their best to develop the country.

MPA Lal Chand Akrani added that the Pakistani Hindus call Benazir their Mata Devi.
