MITHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh Chapter General Secretary and Parliamentary Leader is Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has charged that the provincial government of Sindh has failed to deliver and suggested to hand over the all duties and functions of the provincial government to NGO’s as well.

According to details, Haleem Adil Sheikh visited Thatta, Mithi and Chelhar and inspected government hospitals and healthcare facilities, schools and RO plants. He talked to the citizens and patients, who lodged a lot of complaints against government.

During the visit to the Civil Hospital Thatta, patients decried lack of facilities. They told that not a single x-ray machine is functional in the hospital. Due to poor sanitary conditions, patients are catching more diseases instead of being cured. At night hours only one duty doctor was present. The patients were asked to buy medicines from private medical stores.

Talking to media, Haleem Adil said two aunties are virtual ruling Sindh, but the people are still deprived of healthcare facilities. He said emergency care facilities are not available in Thatta and whenever some emergency is reported, the doctors are found absent. He said the health emergency is only in the houses of rulers.

Haleem Adil regretted they have handed whole Sindh over to the NGOs and the government of Sindh should also be handed over to the NGOs. He said the doctor claims all is well, while the patients have exposed the real situation. He said injections and blood bags are not present in the hospital. He said despite huge health budget medicines are not available for poor patients.

He said twelve days have already passed since the chief justice’s visit to Thar. He said the Civil Hospital Mithi was kept in a better condition only for one day and now it is again in pathetic condition. He said even simple tablets and injections are not being given to the patients. They are also not being given the facility of an ambulance. He said even dog bite vaccine is not available. He said this is the same Mithi Hospital, which the rulers show as a model facility. He said the chief minister and the health minister instead of issuing hollow statements should show some real performance.

He said the budget of Sindh health department is Rs96 billion but in government hospitals, even tablets for fever are not available. He said the health department officers tell lie even in front of their patients. He said the real facts are different and bitter and it is high time that now the real facts should be presented before the masses. He said in the name of the anti-encroachment drive, huts of poor people are being removed.

Haleem Adil also visited RO plant, schools and rural health centre in Chelhar and Hariyar. The RO plant installed at Hariyar four years ago is nonfunctional. Many other RO plants costing millions are also nonfunctional. The government bosses are only taken to visit Mithi, ignoring the rest of Thar. He said that after the visit of the chief justice the condition of the Mithi hospital has further deteriorated.
