Police recover looted items worth above Rs0.7 million, arrest 10 outlaws

ISLAMABAD: The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police recovered items worth Rs773,000 after arresting 10 outlaws, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

He said that an effective crackdown against drug-peddlers in the city was underway on the directions of Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar.

Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Waqar Uddin Syed was assigned the task to arrested criminals and drug pushers and Investigation SP Sardar Ghayas Gul constituted teams under the supervision of CIA Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Hakim Khan.

Police teams arrested accused Waqar Khan, Asif Iqbal, Zeeshan Javid, Shahbaz Ahmed, Muhammad Kamran, Rashid Ali Adnan Afzal, Adil Shahzad, Farnk Joun, Shahbaz, besides recovering 2.575 kilogram hashish, 22 gram ice, mobile phone, gold ornaments, weapons and stolen property from their possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation was underway.

SSP Waqar Uddin Syed appreciated the overall performance of his subordinates and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities.

He said that it is the collective responsibility of the every person of the society to remain on alert against those involved in criminal activities and inform the police for action against them.
