MCI all set to drop service charges bombshell on citizens

ISLAMABAD: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has decided to scale up service charges in order to  increase its revenue.

Earlier, the MCI administration had increased property taxes and conservancy charges by 100 per cent, water  charges for domestic consumers 100 per cent and water charges for commercial consumers by 200 per cent.

Now, MCI has decided to enhance charges on all the services provided to the citizens.

MCI has constituted a five member committee under Chairman Chaudhry Azhar Mehmood while DMA’s director will be the secretary.

The other members of the committee are Chairman Adil Aziz Qazi, Syed Azhar Ahmad Shah, Raja Sheeraz Kiani and Tanvir Hussain Qazi.  DMA’s director will be secretary of this committee. The committee will hold its meetings daily and present weekly reports related to the enhancement in service charges to administration.
