QUETTA: Baluchistan Information Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has said that the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has approved $1 billion social development package in its 8th meeting on December 20 in Beijing.
On the arrival from China on Sunday, he said that the Chinese government will assist Pakistan in textile, petro-chemical, steel and mining industries. While China will continue its cooperation in the sectors of education, agriculture, poverty eradication, health, clean water and technical training also.
He said that China has also agreed to provide scholarships to more than 20,000 Pakistani students in different universities.
“We demanded a half of the CPEC’s social development package in the meeting,” Buledi added.
The information minister expressed his satisfaction with the implementation pace of developmental projects under CPEC and said the meeting decided to speed-up work on other projects, including Gwadar port.
