ISLAMABAD: Police on Saturday detained a man who had climbed a signal tower in Islamabad demanding that he should be named as the country’s prime minister.

Rescue officials asked the man to climb down from a tower in Blue Area of the federal capital, but the man, who was carrying the national flag with him, said that he will only engage Prime Minister Imran Khan or the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sargodha.

He claimed that he could resolve Pakistan’s economic woes within a period of six months if he is named as the premier.

Later, a lifter was used by rescue officials to bring him down from the tower.
