LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge (AD&SJ) on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against three doctors after they failed to appear before the court and testify in the Tyno Syrup deaths case.
The court directed the police to arrest the doctors and produce them before the court on the next hearing so that they could testify as witnesses.
AD&SJ Rafaqat Ali Gondal conducted proceedings of the trial for which accused Fida Hussain and Sarfraz were produced amid strict security.
Shahdara police had registered a case against Fida and others over selling a cough syrup in bulk which claimed 17 lives in 2012.
According to reports, the people who died after consuming this syrup had either overdosed on it or used it in combination with some other substance.
