LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday reviewed the performance of six departments with respect to the 100-day agenda of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
These included the literacy and non-formal basic education, special education, public prosecution, zakat and usher, auqaf and religious affairs as well as management and professional development departments.
Presiding over a high-level meeting, the chief minister was briefed about the performance of all these departments whereas he also reviewed the steps taken by them to provide relief to the people.
“Steps should be taken to directly benefit the people and solving the problems being faced by the masses should be every department’s priority.”
The chief minister said that the first 100 days of the PTI government were a tale of hard work and dedication, and public service was the government’s only agenda.
“The achievement of targets set by Prime Minister Imran Khan would be ensured by investing in human resource development because that is the key for any nation to progress,” the chief minister said and added that the government was giving particular attention to durable development and prosperity of the masses.
“In the past, resources were wasted on exhibitory projects while our performance will speak for itself. We are the custodians of national resources and will be accountable for each and every penny of the nation,” he added.
The chief minister expressed the satisfaction that the ruling PTI had set a new example of austerity, stating that saved resources would be utilised on public welfare.
“The Punjab government has identified its priorities and the province will lead with regard to the fulfillment of the premier’s vision,” he said.
Public sector departments, the chief minister added, would provide necessary relief to the masses with their proactive performance and best performers would be encouraged as well.
