Govt to address demands of business community: CM Buzdar

LAHORE: A delegation of the Businessmen Panel (BMP) for the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) led by its chairman Mian Anjum Nisar called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office where the latter assured to address the demands of the business community.

Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that a facilitating environment had been arranged for boosting the investment in the province as industrial growth also catalyses new employment opportunities.

“I will soon visit the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry and other Punjab chambers along with my team. Contacts with the businessmen community would be continued,” he added.

He said that the Punjab government would provide every possible cooperation to solve the genuine demands of the businessmen community, adding that the problems relating to the Punjab government would be solved at a priority basis and every possible step would be taken to promote the investment and growth.

CM Buzdar said that consultation process with the businessmen would be continued. He informed that drip irrigation programme would be further expanded to promote the agriculture sector and added that the problem of availability of fire brigade for Sahiwal Industrial Estate would be solved soon.

The chief minister directed that a committee be constituted to solve the problems of the business community with Minister for Trade & Industry in the chair and this committee would present feasible recommendations to the government. He said that problems relating to the civic agencies would also be solved.

BMP Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar said Punjab government should provide confidence to the business community and give due assistance, especially upgradation of infrastructure of the industrial zones and formation of new economic hubs across Punjab so that industrialisation may flourish. “Our exports were badly hit in the period of 2013 to 2017, we have to draw a workable comprehensive strategy together and private sector should be on board,” he commented.

Those who called on the chief minister included Mian Zahid Hussain, former caretaker minister Mian Nauman Kabeer, Muhammad Ali Mian, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Ahmed Jawad, Khamas Saeed Butt, Tanvir Ahmed, Adnan Khalid Butt, Aamir Anwar, Javed Siddiqui and others.

TORTURE ON ELDERLY WOMAN:

Spokesman to the CM Dr Shahbaz Gill said that the chief minister has sought a report regarding the case of torture on an elderly woman in Sialkot. The CM has directed to immediately arrest the accused, he added.

Also, CM Buzdar also directed to provide justice to the woman. The spokesman said that action will be initiated against the accused in accordance with the law.
