Major football transfers of 2018

Like previous years, numerous football players opted for new clubs, were given on loans, were transferred by clubs around the world and there were some major ones in 2018 including Christiano Ronaldo’s from Real Madrid to Italian Club Juventus.

1. Ronaldo Joined Juventus 

Considered as one of the best football players of all time, the Portuguese captain Christiano Ronaldo made a surprising move of leaving Spanish club Real Madrid and joining Italian Juventus. He made the transfer with 11,700 million Euros.

2. Kylian Mbappe Joined PSG

French player who is considered to be the most expensive player of the current era made the most expensive move with 13,500million Euro fee this year.

3. Kepa Joined English club Chelsea 

Spanish goalkeeper Kepa’s transfer to Chelsea was considered among the top transfers of 2018. Kepa moved to English Premier League (EPL) for 8,000million Euros.

4. Thomas Lemar Moved to Atletico Madrid 

French player Thomas Lemar moved to the Spanish football club Atletico Madrid for 7,000million Euros.

5. Riyad Mehrez Joined Manchester City 

Algerian national Riyad Mehrez made the fifth most expensive move of 2018 by transferring to EPL club Manchester United for 6,780million Euros.

6. Naby Keita Transferred to Liverpool 

The transfer of Guinean player Naby Keita to EPL club Liverpool was the sixth most expensive transfer of 2018 with 6,000million Euros.

7. Thibaut Courtois Joined Real Madrid 

Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made the seventh most expensive club transfer in 2018. He was bought by the Spanish club Real Madrid for 3,500million Euros.

8. Brazilian Goalkeeper Allison Moved to Liverpool 

 

9. Vinícius Júnior Joined Real Madrid

Another Brazilian made to the top 10 list of most expensive transfers of the year.  Vinícius Júnior moved to Spanish club Real Madrid for Rs6,100 million Euros.

10. Fred Moved to Manchester United 

Brazilian Attacking mid-fielder was the 10th most expensive transfer of 2018.  Fred was bought by EPL club Manchester United for 5,900million Euros.
